On April 24, the AI-MATTERS team together with colleagues from the National Center for Industry 4.0 (NCP 4.0) and the EDIH CTU joined a conference of the AutoSAP (Automotive industry association) supplier division at Strojmetal Aluminium Forging a.s. premises in the City of Kamenice.
The company facilities are located in the Prague ourskirts and it is one of the oldest industrial blacksmith shop in the region with a tradition going back to 1820. The meeting also included a presentation by representatives of supplier companies and a closer introduction to AI-MATTERS and EDIH CTU. The AI TEF presentation focused on the real cases demonstrating the services provided to the customers within current contracts.
During the meeting, the presenting supplier representatives provided interesting insights from automotive production, presented current events in the industry and, last but not least, pointed out the problems that suppliers have to face at this time.
The discussion that followed the presentations focused not only on current statistics and challenges faced by suppliers in the automotive industry, but also on sharing news and experiences from the global market.
The introductory presentation and discussion were followed by a tour of the Strojmetal Aluminium Forging a.s. production plant, where we were introduced to the manual production of forgings, but also the robotic production of these parts. Strojmetal Aluminium Forging a.s. expressed interest in services in the field of robotization, minimization of manual labor and reduction of scrap rates, and at the same time the digitalization of selected procedures, such as product labeling or overall logistics procedures. Reducing manual labor and digitalization of processes is a key for the company in this regard and can increase not only product quality, but also production efficiency.
This networking event brought new contacts and interesting insights from the automotive world. Following this meeting, the AI-MATTERS and EDIH CTU will develop a workshop with selected AutoSAP members to be organized in the second half of October this year.
